"I am very grateful to Mr. Bill Gobin for his foresight, talent, creative mind and unyiedling desire to make the Get America Fit Foundation a driving force in directing America to a healthier future! Bill is an excellent example of what one person will desire and talent can accomplish!"
- Dr. John Spencer Ellis
The beginning........
Get America Fit was founded by NESTA Certified Personal Trainer, Bill Gobin. After an industrial accident left him temporarily paralyzed, Bill spent many months on his back contemplating his life and the state of his health. Extensive back surgery fixed his disc problem, but he spent the next 11 months on his back recovering. And then one day, when watching television, it hit him. Montel Williams issued a “Flabby to Fit Challenge” and that was all the motivation Bill needed to get out of his recliner and put together a game plan. He won the challenge and was featured on Montel Williams in February 2000. During his time as CEO, Bill has mobilized a team of fitness, health and business professionals to help him Get America Fit.
In 2007, The Get America Fit Foundation wants to inspire Americans to:
• Run 1 million miles
• Cycle 1 million miles
• Walk 1 million steps
• Drink 1 million gallons of water
• Exercise for 10 million minutes |
